Makom Shalom’s 1st ever silent auction, fundraiser and party!


Enjoy tasty food and bid on some great items!  This is a huge opportunity for you to get great deals as the highest bidder at this silent auction to benefit Makom Shalom.  There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Great items to bid on include:

  • Theater tickets or attend the theatre with a local critic

  • Restaurants, Hair Salons, Health Club

  • Young adult books and books written by members

  • CD’s (Jewish Renewal and for kids)

  • Artwork/photography, jewelry, greeting cards, gift cards

  • Event space at Beit Yichud

  • Aleph baseball caps and yamulke’s from Central Asia

  • Classes: Running, dancing, cooking, weight loss, mindfulness, Linked In, Aleph courses, public speaking

  • Services: coaching, Reiki sessions, catering, child care, editing/proofreading, pet care

  • Consults: gardening, new business, professional organizing, interior design, nutrition

Parking and Transportation:  Parking for $12 behind Dearborn Station, and $13-17 at 2 lots on North and South corners of 8th and State Streets OR Use to find $8 and $10 parking at the same lots. Contact to RSVP and to make sure you get the full address.

Public Transportation: Brown, Green, Purple, Pink, Red, Blue and Orange lines all within 2-3 blocks.
The 146, 29, 62 buses all stop at corner, and the 22, as well as a dozen other buses within 2 blocks. If you need help with navigation, contact Jaqi.

Pot luck food suggestions:  Please let Linda Touchstone ( know the food you can contribute. Since it is Cinco de Mayo, we’ll have some Mexican food along with whatever you want to share!

  • Soda, seltzer, juices

  • There are 6 restaurants within the block if you'd like to pick something up at one of those, Linda has the list you can check with her at

  • Chicken wings, mini egg rolls, tacos, chips, salsa, guacamole, hummus, veggies

  • Anything goes!
