Sun, Aug 26, 10:30 AM Selichot Service at EncounterPoint in Edgewater

As we approach the High Holy Days, that period of awe and redemption, and in the spirit of the pre-Rosh Hashanah Selichot, this program will allow us to explore the concepts of forgiveness and return, through text study, discussion, modern writings and poetry. As we work with these concepts, we'll also have an opportunity to write our own text - and so add to the sacred canon of our people, creating The Book of Forgiveness.

Please plan ahead to arrive at Rosh Hashana Eve Services due to Traffic Constraints. The service coincides with the closing of the Lakeview Festival of the Arts, which ends at 7:00 pm. The Festival will be operating along Broadway in front of Broadway United Methodist Church where our services are held.

On this evening, Broadway will be blocked to traffic. The cross streets will be two way (including Buckingham to the Church parking lot and Roscoe to the north) and we are allowed to drive around the street barriers on Halsted to access these streets. We can also park in tow zone areas and the Chamber of Commerce will not tow.

Plan extra time for crowds and parking.
